Haibao at the movies (part 5)

Last but probably not least (I’m still embarrassed about that Tarantino slip up from yesterday) is the great Nick Hornby book, turned mediocre film “High Fidelity”.

Or as I like to call it….

Haibao Fidelity

(It makes a lot more sense if you’ve seen the original poster)

That’s the last of these things now- normal service will be resumed in 5…4…3

Haibao at the movies (part 4)

Next in this series of Expoisation of famous movies is one that I basically messed up.

I called it “Pulp Expo” which was a bit of a stretch to start with, but it’s even more so when you realise that this is actually a still from Reservoir Dogs.

pulp expo

Damn.

Haibao at the movies (part 3)

Next up in my holiday-series of Expo-related movie adaptations is the first one I thought of.

If I have to explain that it’s based on Rambo then I have failed and shamed you all. Please accept my most humble apologies.

Haibao at the movies (part 2)

Next up in the list of classic(ish) movies that I expertly adapted to be relevant(ish) to Expo 2010 is this one that I call “The Blue Brothers”*:

the blue brothers

(*Because Haibao’s blue. Look, they’re not all going to be great OK?)

Haibao at the movies (part 1)

So the idea I had for this month’s column in That’s Shanghai was to put the Expo 2010 mascot Haibao into famous films, with an Expo / Haibao related pun in the title.

The issue is out now and, although some of the puns are stretched to breaking point, the pictures look pretty cool.

They’re only little though so for the next couple of days I’ll be posting em up here in glorious internetcolour.  First up is the last one I did and the one that came out the best, based on the poster for “The Exorcist
