(Shameful) Suit Shoe (with a Secret) Tuesday
The urge to try on a suit is a deep and primal one that can strike at any time. It comes without warning like a thief in the night, and woe betide the man who ignores it’s sudden calling.
Obviously though it’s hard to tell whether a dark two-button ensemble goes together when you’re wearing a pair of Nike Rorschach or some such casual footwear. So what does a man do?
G2000 have the answer with this pair of dressing room shoes.
One size fits all, no need to do up the laces. Genius.
If you liked that, you might like...

I looked at the photos first THEN read the text. Thank God. For a minute I thought those were the shoes that someone in your office was wearing today and I was about to shout “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!” in typical Shopgirl fashion. But having read the post all the way through, as you say, it’s genius!
“WoAi 188.221.12.65 not found”? I’m in bloody England, the motherland. How can your silly Wordpress addon not work that out?
excellent choice of white socks with that combo though, hints at a streak of rebellion in you sir.
Nice work I think you have found the perfect mullet shoe, business at the front and party at the back!
WoAi- no one’s believing this whole England story, we all know you’re in some tin pot African state trying to bring down a rogue government.
Dingle- it’s a tribute to MJ
Peter- ah yes, very much a mullet shoe now that you mention it
I fear suits like the coming of dawn. Night is my natural habitat. Shiny shoes haunt my dreams like rabid cabbages at midday.
Are you buying a suit a G2000? I’ve never been able to fit into any of their clothes. I’m too thick – not really fat, but my thighs don’t fit in their pant legs.
David- suits are a man’s natural finery. I like them
T- the one I tried on was nice, but not 3,500+ nice. It fit OK, but I suspect it was meant to be a lot slimmer than the size i had on.
SJ – For 3,500 ok, for 4,500 I bought a Paul Smith suit on sale. Ok, it had been discounted 3 times, but still.
Are you serious? G2000 is like Top Man in England. You can buy a bloody good imported Italian wool bespoke suit for less than that.
Hmmmm … what flag do I get if I do this?
James,
This mullet shoe is a staple of wedding photo studios
I know, Mrs T forced me to make 2 sessions, one in a very expensive Shanghai studio, and 2 years later, another one under a red hot sun on Dadonghai beach in Sanya
Even with my own socks, I felt awful and went back in hurry in the hotel suite to wash my feet repeatidly
T- that’s a good price for a Paul Smith, but how did you know it was real?
WoAi- all of the menswear shops in malls are horribly overpriced, and all of the tailors or cheap shops are crap quality. I thought that’s why you always buy stuff in the UK or Hong Kong?
That’s ace!
How much does it cost?
Mr T, Xiemus- sorry I had to approve your comments before they showed up.
@Mr T- did they make you dress up like Ricky Martin at a Pride Parade? I’ve seen guys wearing wedding photo outfits that would make Barbara Cartland blush.
Xiemus- the shoes weren’t for sale, shame really.
Yep James
In Sanya, the suit was white and the slip-on shoes too ^__^
We took some shots on the lawn of the hotel and on the rocks of the sea shore
On the lawn, the photographer covered my feet with my wife’s bride dress to avoid seeing the back of the shoes
What nobody sees is how they manage to make the suits fit: safety pins behind your back to reduce the pants waist, the sleeves of the shirt etc..
So the shoes with open back are the least of the tricks
All fake but result quite nice
such a clever idea!
I knew it was real since I bought it at the Paul Smith shop in the Seibu Department Store in Pacific Place, Admiralty, Hong Kong, and the original price was 16,000 HKD.
T- Mmmm, Hong Kong- that’s what I’m thinking too.
AM- I’m not sure how long they’d last on the street, but yeah
