#2 Eric’s tale of intrigue and mystery
Eric is the guy who runs the thing, that holds the oil, that oils the ring, that turns the thingimibob that makes my website roar.
He writes
Late one afternoon after my usual daytime drinking binge, I came across a grassy knoll close to my apartment building.
Upon this knoll were a pair of freshly abandoned tennis shoes- white, size 9. THE EXACT SAME SIZE THAT BIN LADEN WEARS.
Now I’m not saying that America’s most wanted man is living in an apartment building in Changning district but….

#3 Mark in Xiamen sends us this shot of a frigging car that is shaped like a shoe. The frigging car was parked up in Xiamen for more than 5 minutes, hence the presence of several Chinese people sleeping in its shade.

While I am here, I want to shout out to Lawrence and Eric – they have always given great tech advice, even to an idiot woman like me. Cheers guys!
It’s just one boot van – it would be even cooler if the had a pair of them. My wife thinks that it’s always been there, it’s in front of a place that all us laowai’s know only as “The Shoe Store” as it is the only place in Xiamen that most of us can find anything in our size. It’s a huge place – two stories of shoe goodness, if Shoe Fetishist Swiss went in there with some feet for modelling I’m sure that he could walk away will well over a year of material….

I’ve seen that shoe-van a couple of times in Xiamen. On Gulangyu Island there is a piano school and sometimes when they’re doing a promotion for the school they have a flatbed truck drive around Xiamen with a bunch of people hammering away on pianos.
Zicca – are you in Xiamen? Or a lost soul that follows shoe soles and the boot cars that they are trying to unite with? Okay – if that sounds bad – I blame the wine.

I am not in Xiamen, Mark. After I get back from Hong Kong I might be going down there for a couple of days though.
What is My Way? A bar full of Frank memorabilia?
My Way is one of the small mostly unknown bars down here, it only holds about 8-10 people. Always a good place to go and enjoy a drink or two, as it’s not filled with laowai’s and it has a nice small pub type atmosphere…
