Shoe Tuesday- silver special
<cue Shoe Tuesday music>. But imagine it with extra sci-fi sound effects.
A few weeks ago I cast scorn upon a young blade I saw around town who was wearing silver pointy shoes, like some kind of man/pixie hybrid. It seems I might have been a little hasty though as the streets of Shanghai are beginnin to resemble a sea of bacofoil.
First it was a pair of Barbie type wedge heeled numbers on the escalators of a shopping centre.
(One day someone is going to assume I’m taking upskirt shots and call the po-lice aren’t they? And to be honest, a memory card full of shoe photos isn’t going to be a whole lot easier to explain.)
Next I saw a young lady wearing these oddities outside the entrance to Yu Gardens. Still I laughed it off as an anomaly- a blip in the space-time continum (sorry, I saw that Star Trek movie).
When I stumbled across this Michael J Fox wannabe inside the gardens however, I knew the jig was up. The martians are here, and I for one welcome our extra-terrestial overlords.
If you want to imagine the future, picture a silver moonboot, with the velcro straps undone, stamping on a human face, forever.

i’ve been looking for a pair of the back to the future part II nike’s since the movie was released. i hope you got that young cad’s number when he signed off on the disclaimer to allow his photo to be published on your blog. i need to find out where he purchased them. no joke.
Those last shoes are hot. I’d buy them, but probably not wear them.
Ooh ooh, Shoe Tuesday.
I haz a photo for you. (assuming the evil blog antispam stuff doesn’t eat it).
If it does, then this ought to work – http://www.twitpic.com/7j0w2
balticninja- the fashion points you won with that Seersucker jacket at WoAi’s party have just been lost.
Do those three stripes read like Nike to you boy? Anyway he was a Korean fashion designer- so maybe Seoul is the first place to start your search.
T- it’s a strong look. Too strong for me.
Lawrence – I like em, I like her long toenails too.
I never trust anyone with long toenails.
Dude, silver shoes are so 1987. And 1965. Wait, might the glittery kicks be on a 22-year fashion cycle?
And btw, long toenails skeeve me out big time. (shudder)
Just like a Silver Shoes Competition and Guys are in the Silver Shoes Actually All are the demands of fashion
I like the 1984 reference in the last caption. Something about Shanghai feels like Oceania…
The silver wedges or very similar ones are currently on sale in On Pedder /Lane Crawford for 5500 HKD……
