Here’s a new addition to the Jiu Guang shopping centre (the one attached to Jing-An Metro Station)
Located next to the escalators at the basement entrance – for those who want to purify themselves of the outside world before they step into a world of Jean Paul Gaultier frocks and 160RMB apples.
(Seriously, 160+ for 1 apple. I saw it with my own eyes).

WTH are you talking about 160+ rmb for one apple. I saw an apple there for 580 rmb, i even have photos of it as proof.
absolutely crazy, it’s worse than using money as toilet paper.
Worse???????
I’ve quite often used all the toilet paper building the nest and then just used a few 10rmb notes to clean up. Chinese notes in particular are quite waxy (always use the newer ones) and is easily rinsed off when you get home ready for spending, not as good in terms of “removal” as real Kleenex though..
Sounds about right for the area.
True story, I paid 120 RMB for 24 internet access at the Swissotel next door.
It didn’t come with a free girl for the night either!
LOL
580RMB for an apple? Well then I really am going to have to see proof…
I’ve seen $100 USD for a watermelon in Japan.
I can’t believe that there are people who still use toilet paper. Barbarians.
Those $$ Apples have characters on them by memory. Is there a significance to the special apples?
Good! I can stop showering
The $100 watermelon are the square ones right? I thought they were just grown that way for status and show.
The apples said “日本 something something” on them I think. I’ll have another look and get the full Pricey Apple Exclusive soon.
Colin- just use more deodorant. Australian style.
Sj – yes and yes. And gifting. And fitting in tiny Japanese fridges.
