Panorama day
Digital cameras are great when the days are short and the sun isn’t out very much, but if I know it’s going to be sunny for the length of time it takes me to get through a roll of film, I’d rather use that.
Sunday I went out with a crappy plastic camera I bought recently- a Miranda Solo Panorama.
And when I say crappy, I mean crappy. It cost about 4 quid (40RMB) from ebay, and that included the postage.
I’ve bought jars of Marmalade that were more expensive.
The quirk with this camera is that it’s supposed to be panoramic- that long wide letter box view you see in movies.
GEEK FACT- it’s not actually a real panoramic at all (they cost a bomb) but a normal 35mm with a wide lens (this chap reckons as wide as 20mm) and a mask to give the panoramic effect.
Enough jibber-jabber, let’s see how the pictures turned out from a day walking around in the sunshine (the slideshow works best if you move your mouse pointer out of the day, click on any image you like to see a larger view).
[For anyone who can't see anything up there, I've tacked the images on to the end of this post.]
Not bad, not bad.

Nice work Swiss I need to get off my arse and take some photos too.
You can get a tripod attachment built into your crutches!
I already have quite a nice attachment in my crotch, thanks!
Good grief- one post of some knee-high boots and the floodgates are open!
James you are partially to blame with that blatantly suggestive title for Shoe Tuesday so don’t try and act as the injured party here!
James,
Long time visitor to your site, and still loving it. Even look up the old Korean adventures once in a while for some reminiscing. I’m generally not the commenting type, sorry, but today it’s for personal gain. You know how it goes.
You working at Pudong airport and all, I thought I’d ask you – what are my options for getting into town after 12 at night? I arrive at Pudong on a saturdaynight, fly down south on sundaymorning, so instead of sitting around at the airport I’m gonna head into town for drinks until the sun comes up. Taxi is a good option as it’ll take me to the doors of an establishment where such is possible, but if there’s other ways; thanks for letting me know!
good mix of photo subjects!
Like all the photgraphs, build my interest to watch n enoy
not bad them swiss, I like the shoozes one
Ykai- oh yes I see how this works, remain totally silent until you want something. It’s all clear to me now!
Actually there’s no way other than a taxi to get into town at that time of night- it’s crazy I know as there are planes that land every day at midnight- maybe the taxi drivers pay the buses to finish early.
Maglev finishes at 21:20 or something, so yeah- it’s a taxi or nothing.
Others- glad you like em!
I’m getting vertigo
