Milking the capital
After spending just two nights I’m Beijing, I’m certainly no expert on the place. However I was given some good tips on where to go by experts, and had a stellar time in the city.
Many, many, many thanks to WoAiZhongGuo, CP/Chas and Craig McMahon.
Since there is a minor sporting event coming up, I thought I would use my time in Beijing to try and score some google hits. Shameless, I know, but what can you do?
So I’ve written an Official* Whoop-whoop Guide To The 2008 Summer Olympics in Ye Old Beijing

Thanks for the link to the error page, James. You must have plugged it in backwards.

‘Twas good to see you sir. Did you actually manage to get a game of crazy golf?
Swiss James on 02 Jul 2008 at am #
Craig- aye good to see you too. We did play crazy golf in Ri Tan Park yeah. It’s lucky we listened to you and not any of the helpful attendants:
“Can we play golf in this park?”
“No, but there’s a yoga centre”
I think the people who work in that park believe all yoga centres have a crazy golf course attached as standard.
The smog was fine by the way, no worse than Shanghai on the days we were there.
Oh and I beat Emma at golf.
