Rather, get water from a pond (from a park) OR get tap water, put it in storage for ~a week and then use it. Precipitates out the chlorine/other chemicals in the water but not the nutrients. Purified water probably has too much chemicals. I had 2 of those turtles for 5 years back in Shanghai. Had to give them away when I came to the states.
