lol! very well caught!
The first one is the description of the 2001 Pixar animation, Monsters Inc. I guess that those who have seen The Godfather might argue that Michael did turn into a bit of a monster, so you can see how the mistake could easily be made. I’d be curious to see what film the subtitles are from!
While this might not quite be the right way to describe The Godfather, don’t go saying they aren’t among the best movies of all time… you might regret it.
Hmm, I assumed that the purple monsters and Japanese attack happened some time between the third and fourth hours of the film when I slipped into a coma.
I just don’t have the attention span for those films- if something’s happening on screen I want to understand it, not wait 15 minutes to find out why some guy I’ve never seen before is eating biscuits on a train.
If he’s on his way to the Vatican to kill an archbishop, then have the ticket inspector walk past saying
“All aboard for the train to the Vatican City. Any passengers in the mafia going on an assassination trip, please remember to watch your biscuit crumbs“
The Godfather III is shit. End of.
That was me, by the way. I ain’t afeard.
Good music in all 3, but none of them can hold a candle to Goodfellas. With Goodfellas, you sit down to watch a bit of it and three hours zips by with a cat’s whisker. With all of the Godfather films I always seem to be watching a shot of some country house in Italy whilst a car drives past, and checking my watch.
Did you realise that the doctor in The Soprano’s is Karen Hill in Goodfellas? Did everyone know this except me?
Oh come on James – two of the best films ever made (Godfather 1 and 2) and you’ll be hard pressed to find anyone who doesn’t wear a frock to disagree. Forget the 3rd one though, that was flogging a dead horse.
Sure, Goodfellas was good too but the ultimate mafia movies surely has to be Married To The Mob, if only for Michelle “schwing” Pfeiffer!
Goodfellas?
Poppycock. The best mafia film is Micky Blue Eyes.
bugsey malone, top dog in my mafiosa kennel.
I saw Godfather for the first time a few months ago with high expectations.
And stop stealing my old material Creegan – http://dlaird.wordpress.com/2007/03/08/old-films-are-crap-dunc/
