On Sunday I went to Craig’s house for a birthday BBQ- I’m not sure how old he is (he starts weeping if you ask), but he certainly puts on a lovely spread.

There was a big jug of Mojito’s (or is it Mojito singular? I don’t speak Mexican), Watermelon granita, all the salads of the rainbow, bread and cheese (some french people came), potatoes, fish, corn, pineapple and enough meat to feed the five thousand.

Rather than get trapped behind a grill for the whole night, Craig hired one of the guys who sell kebabs outside bars- the guy brought 50 of his speciality lamb sticks and the tub of magic spice powder that those guys use- two hours worth of cooking for 150 RMB (12 quid) all in.

!

For that kind of price, I say forget hiring this guy for a party- I’m going to pay him to cater my weekend.

Between Friday evening and Sunday night I could quite easily get through 30-35 lamb stick (he would be out on the balcony whilst I’m inside drinking Harbin and making up a dance routine to my new Sade DVD). Then if he puts the rest in my fridge, I’m covered for breakfast and lunch on Monday. R-O, R-O-C-K!
