toilet doors

So that was May week eh? Great weather most days, plenty of time to drink, relax and buy stuff I sort of need- as Wizzard once sang I wish it could be May week every weeeeeekkkk.

Along with clothes for the heat (linen suits- a must for any summer dandy), I bought three big items over the break.

A guitar:

800RMB (52 quid) including the strap, bag, new strings and a kindly smile from the woman in the shop who’d been trying to get rid of that guitar for years. I’m thinking that if I work out how to play Sade’s “By Your Side” all the way through, then I can sing it at SUS2 the next time I’m in that part of town. They have a strict “Any old drunk with a guitar” stage policy.

A new phone:

konka phone

This new Nokia Konka has got MP3 playback, video camera recording and some kind of GPS that I can’t work out. My old one had a light that wouldn’t come on when you get a message, and was the size of an industrial stapler. It cost 900RMB (60 quid) which is a bit of a bargain. The only drawback is that I can’t hear it ring, so miss all of my phonecalls- it sure is pretty though.

A Nintendo Wii:

4 pack

These are the beers I drank on Saturday night whilst playing 10-pin bowling on the Wii for 4 hours with Craig. It was blowing a gale outside and after Craig left I realised that my bedroom door had slammed shut, taking the handle out as it did so- I was locked out (despite trying to use a corkscrew to prise the thing open) and had to sleep in the spare room, hiding under the blankets from the thunder and lightning.

Anyway, anyway, the point is that those Wii things are great.
